The EPP-CoR Group welcomes the positive signals emerging from the European Parliament’s work on the next Multiannual Financial Framework (2028–2034), notably the prospect of increased funding across key EU priorities, including cohesion, competitiveness, agriculture and rural development, fisheries, and Erasmus+.
Following today’s press conference by co-rapporteur Siegfried Mureşan, we are encouraged to see a strong and ambitious direction taking shape ahead of the Budgets Committee vote.
At a time of growing challenges, a stronger EU budget is essential to deliver for citizens and regions. We are encouraged to see this reflected in Parliament’s evolving position.
The EPP-CoR Group is actively shaping this debate, leading several EPP-driven opinions on the future MFF. This week, EPP rapporteurs will present key opinions on:
- The Common Agricultural Policy (2028–2034), by Piotr Całbecki (PL/EPP)
- The Common Fisheries Policy, the European Ocean Pact and EU maritime and aquaculture policy, by Thibaut Guignard (FR/EPP)
- Mainstreaming climate, energy and environmental priorities across the MFF, by Rafał Trzaskowski (PL/EPP).
Other key opinions have already been adopted:
- European Competitiveness Fund, by Pehr Granfalk (SE/EPP)
- Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) post 2027, by Sari Rautio (FI/EPP)
- The NRPP Fund Regulation, by Emil Boc (RO/EPP)
We will continue to work for an ambitious, future-proof EU budget that strengthens Europe’s regions and supports our citizens.
