Background: The EC has recently published a set of recommendations on transport poverty: ensuring affordable, accessible and fair mobility. Their overall aim is to prevent and reduce transport poverty by ensuring fair access to affordable and reliable transport while respecting the environment and agreed climate-specific objectives as well as economic viability. The Social Climate Fund is expected to have a central role by providing significant financial support to help Member States implement structural reforms and advance sustainable, inclusive mobility.
