The environment and biodiversity conservation is increasingly present in the sustainable development strategies and actions of the EU. The EU Biodiversity Strategy recognizes the intrinsic and instrumental values of biodiversity, and acts towards the protection of natural habitat, as well as halting the loss of biodiversity by the implementation the Bird and Habitat directives and cross-sectoral approaches through substantial knowledge and funding. This subject is currently an important theme that needs to be discussed in the premises of European Green Deal, being important to support the development and sustainability of environment conservation in the process toward climate neutrality.
