The opinion aims to present a politically validated input to the incoming review of the Multiannual Financial Framework prior to the Commission proposals in mid-2023. The adoption of an ex-ante own-initiative opinion will propose specific
requests from LRAs related to the Union budget with the main goal to have impact on the final text adopted by the Council and Parliament.
Indicative timeline for adoption:
- first discussion and adoption in COTER commission on 16 February 2023;
- final adoption at the Plenary session of 24-25 May (tbc).
