We count on your engagement!   EPP Local Dialogues are about …
  • Engaging and reconnecting with people
  • Restoring people's trust in the European project
  • Mobilising citizens to vote in the 2019 EU elections
  • Ensuring that the expectations of people living in our cities and regions are reflected in:
    • the EPP programme for the 2019 EU Elections
    • the priorities of the EPP Spitzenkandidat
    • the next political mandate of the EU institutions
What does this mean in practice?
  • A series of town hall debates with citizens. The topics should be chosen according to the specificity of the city or region and the political landscape.
  • During the dialogue, political leaders should engage in an open and honest debate addressing concerns, but also the opportunities which exist at the European level.
Who?
  • Regional and local leaders, members of the EPP/CoR, members of national parties, members of the European Parliament or candidates running for elections.
Where?
  • Villages, cities and regions throughout the EU: Under the motto "Europe starts in your village/or city", we want to pass a “united in diversity” message: "Europe starts in Sofia" or "Europe starts in Espoo".
When?
  • During 2018 and 2019, in the run up to EU elections. The local dialogues will be complemented by three flagship events taking place in Bulgaria, Austria and Romania.
